Principal's Message
Dear Parents/Guardians:
As we roll into the month of February, parents and guardians are reminded that all of our students are expected to go outside during recess and lunch. It is difficult for staff to ask students to go outside when they are not dressed for the weather. Please double check that your child leaves the house with a hat, mittens, a winter coat and snow pants, especially for the younger students. Proper clothing not only keeps them warm, but it also allows them to play comfortably while outside.
On Friday, January 27th, a memo and orders forms were sent home explaining the details of our first St. Andrews Consolidated Mother’s Day Cookbook. We are excited about this fundraising cookbook because it allows for student, parent and staff input, while making it a school community project. There is also room in the cookbook for student artwork. The artwork will be selected through 4 separate Art Contests. The theme of each contest will focus on “What Mother’s Day Means to Me.” Selected drawings will be published in our School Cookbook. Please use the recipe sheets to enter your favorite recipes and don’t forget to place your orders for Mother’s Day gift ideas.
All profits from the Mother’s Day 2012 Cookbook will go towards the expansion of our classroom libraries. In all schools, it is important that all students have access to a variety of reading materials. With a successful cookbook campaign, we hope to begin our classroom orders by the month of March.
Staff and students thank you for all of the support you offer your community school.
Sincerely,
Suzanne Delaney, Principal
